Basic Writing Instructions

1. All writing assignments must be typed with a 12-14 font in black or blue ink only. Times New Roman or Arial are good fonts to choose (nothing fancy, no cursive scripts).

2. Double-spacing is required.

3. One inch margins all around

4. All writing assignments should be proofread for spelling and grammar errors. Use a spell checker on the computer. It is good to have someone else proofread your work before you turn it in for grading.

5. All writing assignments must be in paragraph format with indenting.

6. Grade will be lowered for failure to meet required deadlines.

7. There is only a single space between words, commas, and semicolons. There are two spaces between all end punctuation (period, question mark, exclamation mark).

8. Writing assignments count for 10% of the grade, unless otherwise specified.

9. Any other instructions will be personalized to your teacher.

10. Plagiarism or copying will receive appropriate discipline.
